Founded in February 1999, after restructuring the research activity in Romania and aiming to meet the required quality conditions of railway transportation, SOFTRONIC asserted itself on the railway suppliers’ market by providing high quality products and services and by good capacity to adapt to new conditions.
	The founders of SOFTRONIC have a vast experience in the field of researching, developing and testing equipment for railway traction vehicles.
	Pioneers on the Romanian rolling stock market of electronic equipment controlled by microprocessors, our specialists have designed and manufactured a wide range of equipment for locomotive modernization from traffic safety, measurement, control and diagnosis to static traction converters.
	Authorized as a railway supplier and with the quality system certified according to ISO 9001-2008, SOFTRONIC activity grew year by year so that, after eight years of producing equipment for rolling stock modernization to manufacture a  brand new electric locomotive.
	The company also exported modernized equipment and new or repaired locomotives in EU countries (Germany, Hungary, and Bulgaria) and other countries (Iran, Serbia and Montenegro, Canada).
	The electric locomotives manufactured and modernized by SOFTRONIC are authorized to run in Romania and nearby countries (Bulgaria, Hungary, and Serbia).      
	The development strategy drown-up by the Administrative Board is transposed by the Directors Board to the company’s departments.
	SOFTRONIC Mechanics    consists of two halls, one for metallic constructions and welding and the other for machining.
	Equipped with modern installations for cutting, welding, processing centers with numerical programming, sanding and electrostatic field painting, it produces all types of mechanic parts from electro-technical and electronic equipment housings to bogies and electric locomotives body shells. 	SOFTRONIC Equipment   has a hall of 3000 m2 and produces equipment for rolling stock starting with control and measurement installations (speed meters, energy or fuel counters) to static converters for auxiliary services and force static converters for traction.	
	The department is equipped with a SMD soldering installation for electronic command, control and force wiring.
	SOFTRONIC Locomotives consists of a hall of 4000 m 2 for general mounting of electric locomotives (body shell and bogies) and two other halls for washing, sanding and painting. 
	This department carries out mechanical, electrical and pneumatic mounting operations having a capacity of one electric locomotive per month. It also performs all types of electric locomotive repairs (general overhaul, complete overhaul and locomotive hoisting repairs). 
	These repairs also integrate modernization equipment kits for auxiliary services or traction.
	SOFTRONIC Service ensures troubleshooting on the Romanian territory, in short time, of equipment, repaired locomotives or new locomotives manufactured by us. 
	It also ensures GSM communication logistics with all locomotives manufactured or modernized running in Romania, enabling the detection of functioning failures in real time.
	Over the last 10 years SOFTRONIC has developed from a non-volatile memory speed meter   manufacturer into a Co-Co electric locomotive manufacturer. These achievements have been possible both due to a well-organized company management and good quality repair and modernization works of rolling stock, in accordance with EU standards and requirements.
