The TRANSMONTANA locomotives, respectively TM 067 (Mb 4017) and TM 068 (Mb 4018) performed the endurance tests on the 890 km covered on the Cernele-Craiova-Bucharest Băneasa-Constanța route and return, where all the equipment installed in locomotives are tested.
From traction to regenerative braking, simulation of tonnages up to 4,000 t and in gradients, air-conditioning installations and on-board equipment, redundancy and safety systems mounted in the engine room, all are checked at maximum operating parameters to ensure operation according to locomotive specifications near the Arctic Circle.
At the beginning of November, Mb 4017 and Mb 4018 will leave for Sweden where they will provide the hauling service for steel rolled trains between Luleå and Borlänge, an 860 km hill and mountain railway where trains can reach up to 4,000 tonnes transported with V.max 100km/h.
