Softronic delivers the fourth modernized locomotive under the PNRR-funded contract

We are pleased to announce the completion and delivery of the fourth modernized locomotive under the contract funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

This time, it’s the former 350 CFR Călători locomotive, now brought up to a new standard of performance, reliability, and efficiency, fully aligned with the current demands of passenger rail transport. This delivery marks yet another important step toward modernizing Romania’s railway infrastructure, and our team remains fully committed to this essential process for the future of sustainable mobility.

Modernization of Locomotive 350 CFR Călători – A new beginning for a veteran of the railways

Locomotive 350 CFR Călători was for many years a part of the active fleet in Romania’s passenger transport system. Through this modernization process, we’ve given it a second life – one adapted to modern technological requirements, with upgraded equipment and improved operational efficiency.

The modernization process was carried out with great attention to detail, ensuring the final result meets the needs of both operators and passengers. This is not merely a major overhaul – it’s a deep reconstruction that brings this locomotive back into service at a competitive level.

A tribute to creation: the image of Constantin Brâncuși
