The second Transmontana locomotive under the contract with RS Lease Slovakia, unit 480 093, joins locomotive 480 092 and will operate within BUDAMAR GROUP, completing the pair of six-axle electric locomotives leased from RS Lease.
The new delivery further strengthens Softronic’s collaboration with RS Lease and Transmontana’s presence in European rail transport.
Transmontana 480 093 joins locomotive 480 092
Following the delivery of Transmontana 480 092, the BUDAMAR GROUP fleet now welcomes the second unit manufactured by Softronic in Craiova – Transmontana 480 093.
The two locomotives form a pair of six-axle units, ready for the transport operations carried out for BUDAMAR GROUP customers.
The delivery of the second locomotive continues the project developed by Softronic together with RS Lease Slovakia and brings another locomotive manufactured in Craiova into operation on the European market.
A new design dedicated to Slovakia
Transmontana 480 093 also features a distinctive visual identity. While the first locomotive delivered under the project had its own design, the second unit comes in blue, with exterior graphics once again dedicated to Slovakia.
The sides of the locomotive feature some of the country’s most distinctive landmarks, including Devín Castle, the Slavín Memorial, the Blue Church and others.
Through this approach, the locomotive’s design creates a direct visual connection with the country to which it is dedicated, bringing together monuments and places representative of Slovakia in a single composition.
Blue thus becomes the central element of locomotive 480 093‘s visual identity, distinguishing it from the first Transmontana delivered under the project while maintaining the same personalization concept.
Two Transmontana locomotives for BUDAMAR GROUP operations
With locomotive 480 093 joining the fleet, BUDAMAR GROUP now has both Transmontana locomotives leased from RS Lease.
The two units can be deployed in transport operations requiring high levels of power and capacity, providing the operator with a combined output of 12,000 kW.
For Softronic, the delivery of the second locomotive represents another stage in the collaboration with RS Lease Slovakia and in the international development of the Transmontana model.
Manufactured in Craiova and designed for operation across Europe, Transmontana electric locomotives continue to be part of international projects and to meet the requirements of rail transport operators.

With the delivery of 480 093, Softronic completes the pair of Transmontana locomotives intended for RS Lease and operated by BUDAMAR GROUP.
480 092 and 480 093 now represent two Transmontana locomotives, 12 axles and 12,000 kW of power, ready for BUDAMAR GROUP transport operations – another project through which locomotives manufactured in Craiova continue their journey on Europe’s railways.
