DB Cargo Strengthens Its Position as Softronic’s Second-Largest Client

DB Cargo Romania has reinforced its status as Softronic’s second-largest client, following Green Cargo Sweden, by acquiring TransMontana 065 and 066.

Domestically, DB Cargo is the largest Softronic client, with over 20 new locomotives purchased from the Craiova-based manufacturer.

LTE Logistics & Transport Acquires TransMontana 019

LTE Logistics & Transport has purchased TransMontana 019 from Softronic Craiova. For those unfamiliar, TM 019 was the authorization locomotive for Softronic’s rolling stock in Europe. It was used for approval tests in Bulgaria, Slovakia, and most notably Sweden, where the state railway operator now operates 16 TransMontana locomotives (classified as MB class), with an additional six contracted for delivery in 2023.

Currently, LTE owns five TransMontana locomotives: 004, 019, 024, 029, and 030. Officially, these locomotives are expected to be gradually transferred to LTE’s Bulgarian subsidiary starting in 2023.

Additionally, LTE Logistics & Transport is in advanced discussions with Softronic for another batch of locomotives, equipped with ETCS & MIREL safety and control systems, to be used across Romania and Europe.
