The LEMA locomotive (Electric Locomotive with Asynchronous Motors), known as TransMontana V3.1 and V3.2, has received the “CE” examination certificate in accordance with the Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI) – Regulation (EU) 2016/919 of the Commission of May 27, 2016, regarding the technical specification for interoperability concerning the control-command and signaling subsystems of the railway system in the European Union.
The Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI) define the technical and operational standards that subsystems or their components must meet to ensure interoperability within the European Union railway system.
Notified Bodies (NoBo) are independent organizations responsible for assessing the conformity of subsystems or parts thereof (interoperability constituents) concerning the requirements imposed by the Technical Specifications for Interoperability.
The Notified Bodies apply the “CE” examination procedure for structural subsystems and vehicles in compliance with Directive (EU) 2016/797 of the European Parliament and the Council of May 11, 2016, regarding the interoperability of the railway system in the European Union.
The LEMA locomotive has obtained all four specific “CE” certificates for rolling stock – railway vehicles, following conformity assessment with the following EU Regulations:
– Regulation (EU) 1302/2014 of the Commission of November 18, 2014, regarding a technical specification for interoperability related to the subsystem “rolling stock – passenger rolling stock and locomotives” of the railway system in the European Union.
– Regulation (EU) 1303/2014 of the Commission of November 18, 2014, regarding the technical specification for interoperability related to “safety in railway tunnels” of the railway system in the European Union.
– Regulation (EU) 1304/2014 of the Commission of November 26, 2014, regarding the technical specification for interoperability related to the subsystem “rolling stock – noise”, amending Decision 2008/232/EC and repealing Decision 2011/229/EU.
– Regulation (EU) 2016/919 of the Commission of May 27, 2016, regarding the technical specification for interoperability related to the control-command and signaling subsystems of the railway system in the European Union.
